Elizabeth Cooper is Founder and Managing Partner in CLEAN Cities, ASEAN Fund GP and Management Company. She is responsible for vetting new project developments, finance and investment structure for the fund. She has more than 20 years experience in finance, corporate development, marketing, sales, and communications with both early stage and growth companies. Her past experience as both an operating executive, and as a general partner in both venture and private equity funds give her a unique insight into the real operations and potential of non-public companies. These past several years she has managed and helped finance nearly $2bn in projects, funds and key technology for the energy industry; i.e. delivering more than $100m in new projects to a single clean tech firm. Elizabeth also developed and delivered a major MENA project on behalf of one of the region’s largest sovereign entities valued today at $800m. She is also co-founder in ASCIAN-GT, LLC a partnership created to develop geothermal and alternative energy resources globally.
Within the technology and energy industries Ms. Cooper has held many BOD and advisory positions with companies from health care to music and entertainment. She is also a mentor for the Graduate School of Engineering and Environment at Stanford where entrepreneurship is a key focus. Her own firm, HCP Partners, she sold to WPP/YnR for its strategic value and methodology in identifying key market opportunities for launching new products and businesses. She has worked on more than 65 early stage companies 5 from inception into the public market. Lastly, for more than 7 years Ms. Cooper served on the board of BEaR, Berkeley’s think tank for failure analysis, along side Dr. Glenn Stevick and Dr. Jay Singer, Chairman emeritus of the Berkeley school of engineering.
Philanthropy is a core part of her activities and she is currently Co-Chair of Joyful Heart SF-Bay Area.
