At the beginning of her career, Genevieve spent years in senior business development and marketing roles around the world. She was Marketing Manager at Beyer Blinder Belle in New York City; International Marketing Director at AmericaEconomia, a Dow Jones company in Chile; Business Development Director, EMEA for Baker & McKenzie based in Brussels; and Development Associate at Civic Exchange in Hong Kong. After acquiring her master’s degree, she undertook a number of research projects for the UK government in environmental economics and sustainable development as an independent consultant with the London School of Economics and the Grantham Institute. In 2010, she won the Vodafone Foundation’s World of Difference Award which funded her placement with University of Oxford-based NGO, Science for Humanity, where she directed development and marketing, and later continued as an advisor. She was hired by the UK Minister for Energy & Climate Change to be Executive Director of the UK-India Business Leaders Climate Group, a bilateral initiative to advance low-carbon trade, investment and technology transfer between the two countries. For four years, she was Co-President of the Parents’ Coalition of Bay Area High Schools, an organization that represents 15 schools and develops speaker events and panels with expert authors, medical professionals and academics to educate parents and teachers on various aspects of adolescent development. She has a BA with Honors in History from the U of Pennsylvania, and an MSc in Regional & Urban Planning from the London School of Economics. She is also a LEED Accredited Professional with expertise in sustainable design and construction.
